Charlie Tango Extreme application

Recently I finally got out to operate portable to hopefully qualify for a CTX call sign. In order to earn a CTX callsign you have to show that you are properly equipped with map, compass, shelter, enough food to last overnight if you get caught out, suitable clothes and good practise of the country code.
I hoped to do it last year but the weather & working shifts got in the way. I'm looking forward to taking part in the weekly Charlie Tango radio networks when the ''Skip'' season starts (usually May).
I took my boy along, he's done 4 trigs this year now and is enjoying it so that's great.

Radio used: CRT One 4w am/fm
Powered: 4200 Li-Po battery
Antenna: T2LT
Contacts = 4

Click the link below to see the video of my activation. Hope to hear you on the air soon.

  1. I've had word back from the CTX admins and my application was successful so I can now call myself 108CTX1642 when up the hills.
